QUETTA: The deputy superintendent of police Pishin and another police officer were injured in an armed attack on their vehicle in Pishin district late on Thursday night.

Officials said that DSP Ainuddin Kakar and Station House Officer of Pishin police station Rozi Khan Kakar were targeted by unknown armed men in Killi Tarkha, a locality on the outskirts of Pishin town when they were on patrol in the area.

“Armed men opened fire on their vehicle, resulting in injuring them seriously,” a senior police officer said, adding that soon after the incident police rushed to the site and shifted the injured police officers to Pishin hospital.

However, later they were shifted to trauma centre civil hospital Quetta. The condition of Rozi khan is stated to be serious. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace out the terrorists.
