QUETTA: Balochistan Food Authority on Wednesday foiled a major attempt to supply unhealthy chicken meat to Quetta city.

According to the spokesperson of Balochistan Food Authority, confidential information was received regarding the supply of unhealthy chicken meat worth millions. On which the authority officials started monitoring the allegedly hazardous chicken meat coming from Punjab by blocking the various entrances of Quetta city.

Meanwhile, the operation team led by the Deputy Director of Operation saw a suspicious cargo truck going to the Airport Road Kili Almas Chowk. The BFA team indicated the suspected meat truck but instead of stopping, the driver fled and entered into a parking area and closed its gate.

The BFA operation team, with the help of local police, opened the parking gate and seized the truck.

Later on, the sample of the meat was tested in the laboratory.

According to the laboratory report, the seized meat worth millions of rupees was found to be unhealthy for human consumption. Later, under the supervision of the BFA team, a large quantity of unsanitary chicken meat was destroyed in a safe place outside the city while legal action was initiated against the elements involved in the supply of the unsanitary meat.
