QUETTA: The Balochistan Cabinet approved an e-commerce implementation plan to provide opportunities and access to global and national markets for youth, including women, which will accelerate economic activities.
The decision was made during the provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday.
The cabinet also approved amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure to improve governance, control inflation, enhance municipal services, and grant magistrate powers to administrative officers for public welfare.
The cabinet strongly condemned the recent terrorist incidents from last month and expressed condolences for the deceased.
The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to continuing governance reforms and instructed all ministers, members of the assembly, and secretaries to actively resolve public issues by visiting the districts.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that the provincial government is striving to address public problems through good governance for sustainable development. He emphasized that the government needs to ensure its initiatives reach the common people of Balochistan.
He pointed out that while the government is sending youth to top global educational institutions like Oxford and Harvard, terrorist organizations are misleading them toward destructive activities. He urged the people of Balochistan to decide who is providing education to their children and who is pushing them toward terrorism. The government will not hand over defenseless citizens to armed factions and will fully maintain the authority of the state.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed the formation of three categories for compensating various martyrs of the Levies Force and instructed the preparation of comprehensive recommendations.
The cabinet made decisions to promote and improve the fisheries sector, including reorganizing the Pasni Fish Harbor and approving the appointment of experts to determine a new site and make the project feasible. The relevant authorities were also directed to include local fishermen in the decision-making process. The Balochistan Cabinet also approved a policy related to the Fisheries Department’s endowment fund.
“The cabinet approved measures to increase resources for the welfare of fishermen and endorsed the Marine Fisheries Patrolling Regulation 2023 to end illegal trawling. Initially, the services of 100 Levies personnel will be handed over to the Fisheries Department for patrolling. The Balochistan Cabinet also approved the increase in mangrove production in the Churna Island Marine Protected Area and directed Secretary Forests Dostin Khan Jamaldini to prepare comprehensive recommendations in this regard.
The cabinet also approved a reasonable increase in the fee structure related to Balochistan Solid Waste Management.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan has instructed all secretaries to ensure timely and full preparation for the cabinet meetings according to the agenda. The Chief Minister stated that the goal of all provincial government decisions is to improve the standard of living for the common people of the province.
