QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Safraz Bugti has said that the government is committed to promoting the cultural and tourist attractions of Balochistan and will take all possible steps to achieve this goal.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting to promote the culture, tourism, and historical heritage of Balochistan on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

The meeting decided to organize various cultural events in the province to promote the cultural and tourist attractions of Balochistan. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary Balochistan, Secretary Finance, Secretary Culture, Tourism, and Archaeology, and other relevant officials.

The meeting was briefed on the ongoing development projects and the progress made so far. The meeting also discussed the allocation of funds for cultural and tourist activities in the province. It was decided that practical steps would be taken to promote the local culture of the province. A cultural festival will be held in Ziarat by the end of this month, and an independence poetry recital will be held in August.

The meeting also decided to hold the Balochistan Literature Festival in the first month of 2025 under the auspices of the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Archaeology. The Chief Minister directed that a mechanism be established to ensure the effective use of funds allocated for cultural events and that the events be promoted extensively on social media.

He said that the provincial government will also take special measures to promote the local languages spoken in the province and will fully support the academies working for the promotion of local languages at the local level.
