QUETTA: The representatives of the Insaf Lawyers Forum have stated that 6 judges of the Islamabad High Court have exposed the interference in justice and the quest for justice through their letter. According to the letter from the 6 judges, the concerns raised are the first of their kind in Pakistan’s history. The judges have indicated an intention to file a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Justice of Pakistan.

This was stated by the representatives of the Insaf Lawyers Forum, including Syed Iqbal Shah, Dawood Shah, Khadim Hussain Wardak, and Shams Rind, while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Tuesday.

They said that the 6 judges of the Islamabad High Court have exposed the interference in the judiciary and the quest for justice through their letter. This step has not been taken by any High Court or Supreme Court judge in Pakistan’s history before.

Justice (Retired) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has apologized to the commission’s head, upon which the Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken suo motu notice. If suo motu was not taken, an intention to file a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by the 6 judges of Islamabad has also been indicated.

They mentioned that a 7-member bench has been formed for the action of suo motu, which also raises concerns among the lawyers of the ILF, as these 3 judges should decide separately from the bench. They mentioned that they had met with Shahbaz Sharif and confirmed that they would fully support government initiatives.

They said that the matter of the judges’ letter should be brought to a logical conclusion by considering the demands of the law. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, along with 2 judges, should immediately separate themselves from the bench, and a full court bench should be constituted so that the demands of justice and law can be fulfilled.
