QUETTA: Heavy rains have continued in most of the districts of Balochistan in the last 24 hours, due to flooding in low-lying areas, people have lost their lives and property in many areas.

Despite continuous rains, Pakistan Army and FC Balochistan along with civil administration and PDMA are engaged in rescue and relief operations all the time.

Bridges and highways have been severely damaged due to floods in low-lying areas due to which Balochistan has been cut off from other provinces, districts and regions.

All roads leading to Gandawa have been cut off due to heavy flood.

60,000 cusecs of flood water in the Nari River has caused the road to be washed away, cutting land connectivity.

The land route to Balanadi has been cut off from N-65 which Pakistan Army, FC and civil administration are trying to restore.

The local population is likely to be affected due to the increase in the water level in rivers and dams in Pat-Feeder, Mula Darya, Rabi Canal, Jhatpat due to flood.

Pakistan Army, FC and Civil Administration are shifting local population from potential flood prone areas of Naseerabad, Tehsil Chhatra and Gandawa to safe places and providing them with food and other needed aid.

For the speedy restoration of the means of transport, the civil administration and the armed forces of Pakistan are also carrying out the repair work of highways and bridges.

Awaran-Buleda connectivity has been restored and the repair work of Linda Bridge has been completed as well.

With the repair of N-25 highway, Quetta and Karachi highway has been opened for all types of traffic.

Apart from this, Pakistan Army, FC and Coast Guard are also assisting the civil administration in improving the traffic flow on the roads.

Free medical camps have been organized for the flood victims by armed forces and FC Balochistan in different districts of Balochistan, Bela, Aurki, Saleh Muhammad Goth, Lakhra, where necessary medical assistance and free medicines are being provided to the patients. Armed forces and FC Balochistan stand with their brothers in this hour of trouble.
