WADH: National Party chief and former Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the damage done to nationalist politics by the demise of senior politician Sardar Ataullah Mengal cannot be remedied. Attaullah Mengal was one of the pioneers of the national movement. 

He expressed these views while writing his comments in the guest book after condoling with Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal in Wadh.

“His demise has created a vacuum in the Baloch national movement which may not be filled. Sardar Mengal sacrificed his young son in this national movement, remained in prisons. He remained steadfast till the end. We share in the grief of the bereaved family on the occasion of this grief and distress,” he said.

Former Governor Balochistan General (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch, the central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, has said in his remarks that Mengel practiced the politics of principles, his words and deeds He was a staunch man.

“He had dedicated his entire life to the Baloch nation and the people of Balochistan. Of course, with his demise, Balochistan lost the leadership of an important person,” he said.

He written in the comments that the fact that the late Sardar Ataullah Mengal was a man of political democratic thinking, he always spoke of the right to rule and rights of the oppressed, especially the Baloch nation, his life is full of struggle.

“The political elite, the undemocratic forces, have been under dictatorship but have never relinquished their constitutional and democratic rights. Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal is still engaged in the struggle from the same platform in PDM,” he said.

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi paid rich tributes to Sardar Ataullah Mengal for his services. He said that thanks to the sacrifices of Sardar Ataullah Mengal Blochistan got a strong identity. He was the voice of not only Baloch but also of all the oppressed nations.

Writing his remarks, he said that Sardar Ataullah Mengal was a national leader. He always pursued a policy of principles. His struggle was for the rights of the oppressed nations and the Baloch nation.

Expressing his condolences in Sardar Kot Mengal Wadh, Hafiz Hamdullah of JUI said that after the death of Baloch leader Sardar Ataullah Khan Mengal, the oppressed nations of the region the void that has been created to raise the voice of oppressed, may not be filled for centuries.

“Sardar Mengal spent his entire life in prisons and tortures but also the martyrdom of his son Asad Jan Mengal whose body could not be found till today. Despite the fall of the government, it has never given up the politics of its nationalist principles,” Shahzain Bugti said.
