QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Livestock and forest Mitha Khan Kakar has said that Sibi mela, being reflective of cherished culture and economic activity, is also a source of nurturing cooperation amongst the people in Balochistan.

Addressing to inauguration ceremony of Sibi Mela He said that the activities in the field of agriculture, livestock and other fields strengthen the economy of the province, adding that the historic Sibi mela is the largest public gathering of Balochistan and the second largest of the country.

He said that livestock has a significant importance in the lives of the people of Balochistan as 80% people are dependent on the industry, adding that the event is also an opportunity of generating employment for many in Balochistan.

He further said that the Sibi mela interests the people of Balochsitan owing to the economic and cultural importance attached to it, adding that this traditional event is reflective of the Balochistan’s old and rich culture. He was of the view that eighty per cent population of Balochistan is dependent on live-stock and this event provides an economic generating opportunity to the farmers coming from all corners of the province.

Mitha Khan Kakar said Chakar E Azam Rind had installed foundation of Sibi Festival Shahi Jirga since the end of Sixteenth century and gave it proper social economic and political shape.

Sibi Festival brought the message of happiness peace and love we are living nation who celebrates their events with zeal and passion.

He congratulated the Provincial Government especially Chief Minister Balochistan and District Administration for the conduct of such a mega event. He said all the issues of Balochistan would be resolved with meager resources at hand.

Minister Livestock said that CM is taking interest in the development and prosperity of the province he is fully aware about the problems of area people are hope full that CM Jam Kamal will resolve the problems.
