QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan Captain (R) Fazeel Asghar has said that the provincial government has decided to make district price control committees more active throughout the province to monitor the prices of essential commodities as the people can’t be left at the mercy of profitable and injured people.

QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan Captain (R) Fazeel Asghar has said that the provincial government has decided to make district price control committees more active throughout the province to monitor the prices of essential commodities as the people can’t be left at the mercy of profitable and injured people.
“Provisional government will take every possible step, to provide relief to the people,” CS Balochistan said while addressing a high level meeting on price control and sale of unhealthy items.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Hafiz Abdul Basit, Salah Mohammad Nasir, Secretary Industries and other officials were present on the occasion.
In the meeting, officials reviewed mechanism for price control, wheat procurement.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazeel Asghar said that the increase in prices of essential commodities will not be tolerated. “Steps are being taken to stabilize the prices,” he said.
He directed the authorities to dispatch samples to the laboratory, of food items in the market for general consumption so that they can be thoroughly checked and action against the sale of unhealthy items could be taken.
He instructed the officials in the meeting, to facilitate the people in every District, by establishing cheap markets.
He directed that awareness seminars on price control and sale of blended goods should be organized in which associations, social workers and public representatives be invited.
“Stabilization of commodity prices is the top priority of the federal government,” the Secretary said and added that wheat procurement should be ensured till Monday and no shortage will be tolerated in this regard.
