QUETTA: Residents of Spini road on Monday staged protest against low- gas pressure pestering citizens of Quetta in freezing temperature chanted fully throat slogans against Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

QUETTA: Residents of Spini road on Monday staged protest against low- gas pressure pestering citizens of Quetta in freezing temperature chanted fully throat slogans against Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

Chairman Public Accounts Committee and senior leader of Balochistan National Party Mengal Akhtar Hussain Langove participated in the protest in order to show solidarity in protest against low-gas pressure.

The protesters torched used tires and blocked traffic at one of busy road of the provincial capital which disturbed traffic flow across the city.

“Despite freezing temperature when mercury dropped down to -10 degree Celsius but residents of Quetta deprived from natural gas and unable to warm their family members particularly children.” The protesters said alleged SSGC Company for sending overbilling to domestic consumers despite low-gas pressure.

Women and children also participated in the protest in order to raise their woes pestering them since winters arrived in the provincial capital.

Addressing the protesters Chairman Public Accounts Committee Akhtar Hussain Langove has slammed SSGC Company adding despite numerous protest and meeting with SSGC officials, the Company didn’t yield-out any solution regarding low-gas pressure,

“Despite having our own natural gas resources, we have been looking for natural gas which lifted the lid from Federal Government’s tall claims of heeling Balochistan’s wounds.” Langove said called the attitude of Federal Government and SSGC as oppression with people of Balochistan.

Langove threatened to set a strike-camp outside Governor and Chief Minister House if provincial government, federal government and SSGC Company didn’t address the low-gas pressure issue.
