Thousands lose jobs due to ban on Iranian Oil: Union

QUETTA: Balochistan National Party Central Labor Secretary Chairman Manzoor Baloch, Mir Abdul Ghafar Mengal, Abdul Malik Shahwani, Amanullah Mohammed Hasni, Nasrullah Raisani, Haji Dil Murad Mohammed, Abdul Salam Bangalzai, Nadeem Rind, Abdul Baqi Ababakai and others while addressing during the Press Conference of Unemployed Union of Balochistan, said that the provincial government has banned the oil business and snatched the last possible way of earning income.

QUETTA: Balochistan National Party Central Labor Secretary Chairman Manzoor Baloch, Mir Abdul Ghafar Mengal, Abdul Malik Shahwani, Amanullah Mohammed Hasni, Nasrullah Raisani, Haji Dil Murad Mohammed, Abdul Salam Bangalzai, Nadeem Rind, Abdul Baqi Ababakai and others while addressing during the Press Conference of Unemployed Union of Balochistan, said that the provincial government has banned the oil business and snatched the last possible way of earning income.

“Small investors have been forced to stop the business while big businessmen are allowed to continue,” Speakers said. They further said that about 150 thousand people associated with the oil business have become unemployed after the decision of provincial government.

“We will not leave the unemployed youth of Mastung, Kalat, Surab in any case. If the ban on the oil business is not immediately abolished, the people of Mastung, Kalat and Surab and from other districts will march to Quetta and will besiege the Chief Minister’s House.

“Thousands of highly educated young people are already involved in this business,” they said and added that government could not provide jobs but taken only source of income of hundreds of thousands people.

They said that rising unemployment has again created the danger of robbery and mismanagement in Balochistan. The provincial government should formulate a regular policy and appropriate tax if applicable, investors are willing to pay taxes so that these people can earn two-time bread for their families by doing business with dignity.

“We also regret the tragedy of Commissioner Tariq Zahri in the traffic accident. After this incident, banning oil-transport in small vehicles only is cruel and oppressive. A policy should be formulated to prevent accidents and keep this business going.

We are forced to do dangerous jobs like oil in a world of extreme compulsion,” They said and added that they have bought different vehicles rented cars after selling properties.

They appealed to the provincial government for reviewing his decision on oil ban, said that if our jobs were not restored we would be forced to protest.
