In these cases, 69 women and 11 men were killed, of which 43 women and 9 men were killed for honor, 17 women committed suicide due to domestic violence,

3 women were face domestic torture, 4 women were abducted, 3 women were thrown acid and 1 incident of threat against woman was reported,” This was told during a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Sunday. Director Aurat Foundation said that every year, 16 days of activism against gender violence are celebrated. Starting from November 25 and continuing till December 10, the theme of the year 2019 is “Orange the World: Generation Equality stands against the Rape”.

The movements of women all over the world raise their voice against the violence and oppression of women in these 16 days. “These 16 days of activism are celebrated all over the world as a symbol of women’s struggle against violence and oppression,” he added.

He said that Aurat Foundation, EVAW / G Alliance, the Department of Women Development Balochistan and UN-Women have set up various programs for 16 days to combat violence against women. The campaign will begin on November 25 with a ceremony at the Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP), ending on December 10, 2019, the International Day for Human Rights.

“The campaign includes meetings with parliamentarians, holding seminars, walk, panel discussions and organizing programs against gender violence in boys and girls schools in different districts,” he briefed.

He further said that a mega program will also be organized at the end of the campaign. “This year, it will be our endeavor to bring more students, universities, girls’ schools and colleges to these programs so that the new generation is more aware of women’s rights,” he said.

Alauddin Khilji said that like the other provinces of Pakistan, the provincial commission on the status of women in Balochistan should be formed as soon as possible. “We also demand the provincial government that the bill regarding the prevention of early marriage Immediately be approved by the Balochistan Assembly,

the bill for the rehabilitation and resettlement of acid-affected women will be brought to the Assembly or the implementation of the Laws 2016 committees against harassment of men and women on the ground in all public and non-governmental organizations.

“We want to make sure that awareness is made at the grassroots level, domestic violence Develop rules and regulations to enforce laws against them,” Speakers said and urged government to provide policy formulation at the provincial level for the social and economic protection of home-based workers.

They said that development schemes are necessary to improve the economic condition of women. Also, to finalize the products made by women, product finishing units should be set up at the provincial level. In order to restore the atmosphere of peace and brotherhood in Balochistan, a policy should be formulated with the support of the people at the government level.

“In addition to disaster management at district and district level, reorganization committees should be organized in partnership with charity gentlemen, civil society members, local representatives and Scouts to play an active role, with special focus on women and children in need” they said.

Director Aurat Foundation said that providing effective representation to women assembly in provincial cabinet in necessary, steps should be taken for easy access of persons with disabilities in government and non-governmental organizations, establishing psychological health center at Sandiman Provincial Hospital, establishment of mobile fistula center in primary health center.

“Emergency and external routes should be made to all hospitals, including Bolan Medical Complex, public and non-governmental organizations including secretariat, chamber of commerce, courts and Women’s friendly space in media houses such as day care centers, bathrooms, restrooms and information desk should be implemented,” they urged.

He said that HR Policy for Media Houses should be tailored to the needs of gender sensitivity. The women should be represented on the basis of equality at all levels in the government institutions. “We urge political parties to nominate women on the basis of equality even in general seats, at the divisional level in Balochistan,” he added.

They also demanded, to be implemented and to prompt the immediate legal guidance of women affected by violence and the appointment of a lawyer panel to deal with cases as soon as possible, for courts to have the earliest possible hearing on women’s rights.

“I demand the provincial government to ensure effective measures regarding transgender, be the provincial policy and create social and economic security and employment quotas for the government to improve their economic condition,” Alauddin Khilji said.
