QUETTA: Chief of Pashtoonkhua Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzai has urged the democratic forces to fight for supremacy of the constitution in the country.
“We fully support Azaadi March of Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman and ready to share container with Maulana and jail,” Mehmood Khan Achakzai said while addressing a seminar held in memory of prominent Lawmaker Asma Jahangir.
He said that Asma Jahangir played a major role in upholding the Constitution, fought against the dictatorial forces. The institutions of the country should play their part in saving the country. Those who have given power to people through undemocratic processes, will be responsible for downfall.
Mehmood Khan Achakzai said that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has followed the path that he has taken for the rule of the Constitution and for the supremacy of democracy in the country. “There is no rule in the country unless the constitution is over.
“We pay tribute to Asma Jahangir for her role in the supremacy of the constitution, in-spite of all the circumstances, she did not accept dictatorial supremacy,” PKMAP Chief said.
He said that his party fully supported Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Azaadi march. If government tried to arrest Mulana Fazlur Rehman, he will go to jail with him. He said that circumstances demand that all the political democratic forces should join hands and fight against those who have prevented democracy from functioning because without democracy, society can never progress.
He said that democratic forces struggle for the supremacy of the constitution in the country. Everyone must support Maulana Fazlal Ur Rehman’s Azaadi march.
