QUETTA: Traders community, Clearing Agents, Imports and Exporters on Wednesday observed complete strike against what they claimed inappropriate behaviour of Customs and FBR halting trade activities across the province.

QUETTA: Traders community, Clearing Agents, Imports and Exporters on Wednesday observed complete strike against what they claimed inappropriate behaviour of Customs and FBR halting trade activities across the province.

The trade activities in the province remained standstill following strike calls by businessmen community following attitude of FBR Islamabad officials and Customs’ demands of extortion and bribes.

The delegation of Quetta Chamber of Commerce comprises 16 members including President QCCI Badar Uddin Kakar, Vice President Dawood Khilji, Abdul Samaad Musakhail, former President Jumma Khan Badezai and Akhtar Kakar visited Islamabad and met with Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.

The delegation informed Sanjrani businessmen community paying billions of rupees’ tax through QCCI’s platform but we have been facing problems in import and exports of local and international products added the issues needs to be resolved at high-level,

“Hurdles being created by FBR and Custom department would triggered hazardous circumstance for provincial economy which would cause unemployment in Balochistan.” President QCCI Badar Uddin Kakar told Chairman Senate demanded an effective policy for province’s apple, tomato and scrap industries.

Sadiq Sanjrani asked written recommendations and suggestion from the delegation assured them to address their issues at priority level, “There was a need of solid and implementable policies for Balochistan’s industries because without government support businessman community can’t run their business.” Sadiq Sanjrani assured the delegation.

Senator Mirza Afrisi and Senator Ahmed Khan pledged full cooperation of their chaired committees toward issues pestering Balochistan’s traders’ community.
