Senate to begin debate on increase of Balochistan’s seats in Assemblies

QUETTA: Chairman Seante Sadiq Sanjrani has announced on Wednesday that a bill to be moved in Upper House of the Parliament regarding increase of Balochistan’s seats in National and Provincial Assemblies.


QUETTA: Chairman Seante Sadiq Sanjrani has announced on Wednesday that a bill to be moved in Upper House of the Parliament regarding increase of Balochistan’s seats in National and Provincial Assemblies.

“Consensus being developed among all Political Parties in order to move a bill that would debate on increase of Balochistan representation in National and Provincial Assemblies.” Sadiq Sanjrani said while meeting with Chairman of Provincial Standing Committees and Staff of Balochistan Assembly Secretariat.

“After approval of the proposed bill number of Balochistan’s seats in NA would reached to 30 while number of provincial assembly’s seats would jumped up to 80.” Sadiq Sanjrani said stressed upon effective contacts among Federation and Provinces.

He added, all provincial assemblies should pursue the criteria of proceedings of Senate and National Assembly which would help them to run Parliamentary affairs adequately.

“Fortunately standing committees of Senate were fully functional hence provincial committees should enhance their capabilities from Senate’s experience.”

He announced that Institution for Parliamentary Affairs would expand its training program including training for bureaucracy in order to inform bureaucrats regarding parliamentary affairs.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has directed authorities to hold training workshop of Parliamentarians in Gawadar with support of UNDP added Member Provincial Assemblies, Chairman Standing Committees and Secretaries would participate in the workshop.

“New amendments would be made in legislation which would preclude Federal, Provincial Officers and government employees to participate in courses related to Parliamentary affairs.” Chairman Senate added.
