QUETTA: The president of National Party has bemoaned the decision of BHC urging all political parties, trade unions and civil society to resist the verdict. He said while meeting different delegations of labour leaders and party office bearers.

Malik said the right to form unions had been granted by constitution and one wonders as tp how this right could be snatched away. The NP president vowed to mobilise public against the verdict sayinv he would contact PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PML N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and other political parties informing them about this unjust verdict.

The ex chief minister was informed by the labour delegations that thousands of people had been rendered homeless by the PTI government during the so called anti encraochment drive. Thousands of people from less privileged sections of society had also been rendered jobless after the authorities demolished small businesses across the country.

Malik assured the delegations that his party would stand with the people belonging to bottom layers of social stratification and raise voice for the displaced people of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad and would vigorously campaign for the rights of Gwader’s fishermen.

Malik bemoaned the undeclared censorship on media and curbs on social media, saying such steps would bring disrepute to the country.

During a meeting with party leaders Malik said that the party was making preparations for the up coming opposition parties’ public gathering in Quetta which would be attended by prominent leaders of PML N, PPP and other parties. He underscored the need to raise people’s issues from the platform of opposition parties besides resisting anti democratic steps of the government. He advised party leaders to keep a vigilant eye on the situation of the region as it could badly affect Balochistan and the country. He cautioned against becoming embroiled any new conflict in the region.

Senator Tahir Bizenjo, Senator Muhammad Akram, NP Punjab President Ayub Malik and other party leaders also attended the meeting.

He urged the NP Punjab leaders and office bearers to mobilise people against the anti democratic moves of the government, saying he would visit different districts of the province. He underscored the need to intensify party membership drive in the most populous province of the country opining no progressive change would be possible without the support of Punjab’s masses for a revolutionary change. He appreciated the party senators for helping out trade unionists of Hafizabad and raising their voice for them in the upper house.
