PPP supporters across Balochistan protest against Zardari’s arrest

QUETTA: Pakistan People’s Party supporters began protests across the Balochistan against the arrest of former president Asif Ali Zardari in the fake accounts case.


QUETTA: Pakistan People’s Party supporters began protests across the Balochistan against the arrest of former president Asif Ali Zardari in the fake accounts case.

On Tuesday, Peoples’ party workers in Naseerabad Division took to the streets against arrest of Ex-President and Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari.

The protesters staged a rally outside Quetta Press Club Naseerabad and chanted fully throat slogans against current government alleging them for arresting opposition members in political victimization.

“Federal Government framed false charges against former President Asif Ali Zardari in order to prevent opposition members from starting movement against PTI Government.” The protesters said.

District General Secretary PPP Naseerabad Meer Bahadur Khan, District Information Secretary Dr. Muhammad Lashari and other party leaders have addressed the protesters demanding immediate release of co-chairman of PPP.

“Pakistan Peoples’ Party always raises voice of poor people of this country, our leadership never deterred from imprisonment and martyrdom because our history if full of political victimization by dictators and political opponents.” They added.

“The selected Government has increased inflation while burden of new taxes was being put on poor mases thus the government arrested former President in order to distract people from their anti-public budget.”

Meanwhile PPP Workers in Jaffarabad led by District President Wzir Ali Umrani staged a rally against arrest of Asif Ali Zardari and marched on various streets of the city.

The protesters chanted fully throat slogans against current government and demanded immediate production orders for former President.

“PTI Government has been weakening democracy in the country therefore they afraid of Pakistan Peoples’ Party because PPP was the only defender of strong democracy in the country.” The protesters said added on the name of accountability, current government started political vandalism.

A joint rally of Pakistan Peoples’ Party and PML N held district Shubat Pur where dozens of party workers chanted fully throat slogans in favor of Co-Chairman of PPP.

On Monday, The leaders and works of Pakistan Peoples’ Party, including women wing and Peoples youth strongly condemned the arrest of Party’s Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and staged protest demonstration.

Large number of women workers of PPP Balochistan took out a protest rally that after marching on roads gathered in front of Quetta Press Club led by Mrs. Ghazala Gola, President PPP Women wing Balochistan.

The women workers carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-government slogans. The women workers chanted slogans against the government.

Speaking at on the occasion, Mrs. Ghazala Gola strongly the arrest of Asif Ali Zardari and said that NAB was taking revenge from opposition leaders in the name of accountability on the behest of PTI government and said THAT Asif Ali Zardari was arrested in the fake and baseless allegations. She said that the arrest of PPP leader was pre-planned as the special assistant to the Prime Minister, Dr, Firdus Awan had announced last night that PPP leader would be arrested as his bail would be canceled.

Mrs. Gola said that Asif Ali has been arrested to divert the attrition of the people from budget which would be present in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

Senior Vice President Mrs. Kalsoom Perveen, General Secretary Zarina Zehri, Abida Baloch and other women also spoke on the occasion and said that PPP leadership and workers could not be scare of arresting and sending jail. They said that earlier Asif Zardari was kept in prison for 11 years without proving any cases against him.

They said that party leaders and workers would not bow dawn before PTI government who victimizing the political opponents in the name of so-called accountability. PPP would continue struggle against the doctoral attitude of Irman Khan and his government. They demanded immediate release of Asif Ali Zardari.
