QUETTA: Balochistan’s former Chief Minister, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali has demanded probe into the funds provided to Balochistan under 7th NFC Award and said that parliamentary commission should be set up for investigation of spending of this huge amount.

He said that this while taking part in the general debate on Balochistan Budget for the year 2018-19 in the Balochistan assembly budget session on Monday, which presided over by Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musakhail.

Mr. Jamali while taking the floor said after 7th NFC award Balochistan receiving its share since last many years but it was not visible where this huge amount was spent. “People must know where these funds were spent,” he said, adding that why

Balochistan could not develop despite receiving its share from NFC award. He also suggested forming an administrative commission for improving administrative affairs.

Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali said that different packages were announced by the governments that include Quetta beatification and development package in which many projects were included but nothing is visible as nothing is changed. He said that huge commercial plazas are being constructing in the residential areas of this provincial capital Quetta but nobody was showing concern on this issue.

He said that two floods in 2010 and 2012 badly affected Jaffarabad, Sobatpur, Jhal Magsi districts and parts of Nasirabad district that destroyed, infrastructure, agriculture sector and canal irrigation system in these district.

“The people were still facing after affects of that destruction,” he said. Referring posting transfer issue, the former Chief Minister said that it is an import issues, the government allow officials to work on its post at least two years and Chief Minister Jam Kamal should focus on resolving other issues instead of posting and transfers.

He said that Balochistan was also ignored in CPEC and one can see only billboards of housing schemes in Gwadar. He said that Balochistan senators should not become part of amendment bill regarding increase of national and provincial assemblies’ seats for newly inducted areas of FATA and tribal areas and demand for enhancing Balochistan assembly seats from 51 to 80.

Parliamentary leader of ANP, Asghar Khan Achakzai however, did not agree with the suggestion of Mr. Jamali about blocking amendment bill in the senate and said that it should passed so the people of tribal and Fata area could get their rights.

He said that if senators from Balochistan will create hurdles in the way of amendment bill, it will prove a back sigma on Balochistan forever. He demanded to issue production order of PTM members of the Assembly.

Provincial Home Minister Zia Langove, Mir Ahmed Nawaz Baloch of BNP-Mengal, Mir Younis Aziz Zehri (JUI-F), Dr. Rababa Buledi, and Ms. Shakilla Naveed Dehwar also spoke on the budget. Ms. Shakilla said that Chief Minister should provide facilities to the needy people who were even deprived of schools, health facilities,

drinking water and other basic facilities in Kalat and Mastung districts. She offered that she is ready to withdraw from her development schemes included in the PSDP, but government should initiate development work in the areas which were ignored and deprived by the governments.
