ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said the government’s flagship programme “Ehsas” aims at addressing the issue of poverty alleviation in a comprehensive manner.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review the progress on implementation of the “Ehsas” programme, the premier said, “The government wants to ensure complete transparency in all programmes, including Bait-ul-Maal, so that the element of discretion can be eliminated.”
The premier launched the poverty alleviation programme at a ceremony held in Islamabad last month.
Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister said that his government was adding Rs80 billion in the programme to alleviate poverty from the country. He said a ministry was being established, which would be overseeing this programme.
