QUETTA: A Terror bid foiled in Dera Murad Jamali and a bomb device planted at railway track near Notal area was defused on Thursday.

The militants trying to plant an Improvised Explosive Device on the track, sources said. The militants opened fire and the security team retaliated, a militant died on the spot, the sources said.

A 10 kg IED with detonator, and pistol were recovered from the spot, the sources said. The planning to blow up the track whereas Jaffar Express and Akbar were scheduled to leave for Punjab, official added.

According to the sources an attempt to blow up the railway track with detonator has been thwarted by security forces.

The BDS was called in to defuse the bomb which was reportedly a remote controlled device. Policemen send the body in civil hospital Dera Murad Jamali for identification.
