QUETTA: Balochistan government has approved establishing emergency and rescue 1122 service in Quetta and along with all the National Highways of the province and decided to set up separate Directorate and Task Force for implementing on the project.

A meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Jam Kamal Kahn held here on Thursday decided that the Emergency and Rescue service will be launched within one month. Provincial Home Minister, Ziaullah Langove, Chief Secretary Dr. Akhtar Nazeer, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta, Secretary Finance Abdul Haq Baloch, Director General PDMA Imran Zarkoon and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed matter pertaining to establish Emergency and Rescue 1122 service in detail and observed that such introducing such service in Quetta and other towns and cities of the province was very much needed. It was decided that on the initially it should be established on experimental basis in Quetta.

It was further decided that an Act will be presented in the assembly for approval in this regard. Emergency service would be establish in the province on the basis of Punjab modal and after completing recruitment    on approved 495 different posts for rescue service they would be sent to Punjab for training.

The Chief Minister directed that after launching Emergency and Rescue 1122 service within one month steps should also be taken for launching this facility in other towns and cities of Balochistan.

The Chief Execute of PPHI, Aziz Jamali informed the meeting that work on setting up emergency centers along with all National Highways linking Balochistan with entire country would be started soon. These emergency centers would be established in the basic health centers available in towns and cities located along with national highways.

People meet traffic incidents would be given emergency medical treatment in these centers. The meeting also approved funds and provision of required equipment and other facilities for the project.

Official sources said that Balochistan government has already released Rs. 340 million for implementing on the project of establishing emergency rescue centers on the national highway. The project would be completed in next four years and entire project would cast Rs. 4 billion.

Chief Minister Jam Kamal directed that all equipments and required facilities should be arranged in these centers to meet any incident, including earthquake, floods, traffics and fire incidents.
