QUETTA: Heavy Rain and Snow lashed out many parts of Balochistan including the provincial capital on Monday, the mountains in the Quetta valley shrouded in snow pushing the temperature below minus Celsius.

The spat of rain commenced since Saturday night and poured in many parts of Balochistan including the Quetta valley as Met department predicted more rains in.

The Provincial capital received 25mm rain on Monday and the mountains in the valley covered with snow chilling weather with cold winds.

Zhob, Kalat and Makran Divisions received heavy rains with thunders storm on Monday while Ziarat valley dis-connected with rest of Balochistan due to heavy snow which blocked many highways in Ziarat Valley.

The heavy snowfall in Ziarat blocked highways and dozens of vehicles stranded in freezing weather. The District Administration after hours of strived opened all snow blockages on highways.

Deputy Commissioner Ziarat Qadir Pirkani said, the snow caused cut Ziarat from rest of the province but the District Administration restored traffic after siding the snow from roads.

Environment Experts termed the season rain as helpful to break the drought in Balochistan adding the Quetta valley alone received more than 60mm rain in last three weeks.

Electricity Breakdown causes woes for the citizens in Quetta valley as majority parts of the city remained out of power on Monday while complaints of low gas pressure emerging from many parts of the provincial capital.

Many streets of the city were seen filled with sewage water simmering due to rains causing traffic jam at most of the roads in Quetta. Despite CM Balochistan directions the Metropolitan Cooperation couldn’t maintain cleanliness of the city after rain.

The rain showered in Gawadar, Pasni, Sibi, Khuzdar, Nokundi and other cities of Balochistan.
