ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday directed to complete the Orange Line Train project until the proposed date.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nasir while hearing the case remarked that the project is a gift for the people of Lahore.

On a lighter note, he asked the authorities to inform them when the project is ready as the judges will also take a ride in the train.

The contractor’s lawyer Naeem Bukhari told court that his client has yet not received his payment. “Lahore Development Authority should submit the cheque in court and the contractor can take it after submitting bank guarantee,” asserted CJP.

He expressed thanks to project director Sabtain Fazal saying that his services are commendable.

Failure in completing the project will be deemed as non-compliance of court orders, added the Chief Justice. “The contractor will begin work once the Chinese company has finished the interface,” told Bukhari.

The hearing of the case was adjourned until Wednesday.
