QUETTA: Many parts of Balochistan including provincial capital Quetta received winter’s first rain and snowfall during mid night of Friday and Saturday breaking a prolong pause of dry weather in Balochistan.

The new spat of rain and snowfall in the Quetta valley and other cities started on late night Friday which didn’t last for hours. And the snowfall couldn’t get frozen as the provincial capital and Ziarat valley received ½ inches of snow.

Many Citizens during late night were seen enjoying the snow in their streets and posted their pictures and videos of season’s first snowfall on social media.

The short shower of rain and snowfall turned the weather more chilly in many parts of Balochistan while temperature dropped down below 0 Celsius.  On Saturday morning and afternoon dozens of citizens were seen hitting the food streets to warm their selves with fish and meat.

“Fortunately the city has received rain and snow together after witnessing drought and dry weather, indeed today we are glad and enjoying the chilled weather with friends.” Pir Muhammad resident of Quetta said.

According to Metrological  Department many parts of Balochistan including Barkhan, Lasbela, Ziarat Harnai and Dukki received 3mm rain and the rain system might reach Balochistan again next week.

The rain has lifted the lid from government and Metropolitan’s false claim regarding sewage system as many streets were floating in filthy water of sewage lines,

“We can’t come outside of our residence as half of our gate is filled with filthy water, the government should take action upon floating sewage lines which causing difficulties for the citizens.” Muhammad Ishaq residents of Colvan Road said.

Many feeders in the Quetta and other cities got tripped due to rain forcing people to bare electricity breakdown for hours.
