Won’t allow injustice with Balochistan: CJP Mian Saqib Nisar

QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday inaugurated the new building of Supreme Court Quetta Registry hoping the SC Quetta Registry will play its due role in imparting speedy justice to the people of Balochistan.

CJP Mian Saqib Nisar while addressing the ceremony held in Balochistan High Court called Balochistan’s situation as deplorable added Balochistan has rendered colossal sacrificed for the safety of Pakistan,

Promising to protect rights of Balochistan, the CJP assured that injustice with the province will not be allowed. The apex court judge called upon his fellow judges at all levels to dispense justice by rising above personal gains.

“Despite having mammoth of mineral resources people of Balochistan have been demanding their basic rights and complaining that they have been neglected by the federal government, in these circumstance I personally feels sense of embarrassment.” Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said.

He added, during my visits in Balochistan, I have given my observations in courts as well that why Chief Secretaries and IGPs are being posted from other provinces in Balochistan, tough these are administrative issues  but the too concept of self- governance should be equal in Balochistan as in other provinces,

“Whether I remained in my position or not but the judicial system in the country must remain strong, I know after me more honest and credible judges will fill my place because institutionalized issues are more important than individuals.” Chief Justice Saqib Nisar said.

Slamming the previous regimes over neglecting decreasing water level issue in the country CJP said, today we have been discussing water issues and issuing warning that in next seven years Pakistan and Balochistan will face severe water crisis,

“What measure provincial governments have taken to control water issues? Unfortunately they did nothing over the valid issue, shouldn’t be they hold accountable for risking public lives?” and added sincere measure and patriotism were the only solution to develop Pakistan.

“Time has come to repair our mistakes which pushed back our country, this is time to payback for the country because we have to take our country forward.” Justice Saqib Nisar said adding still there were vast opportunities of development in Pakistan.

Senior judges of Supreme Court Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Shiekh Ahmed Gulzar, Justice Musheer Alam, Justice Mazhar Mian, Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Justice Tahira Safdar, sitting and retired judges and a large number of lawyers were present in the ceremony.

Talking on the increasing number of judges in Balochistan High Court CJP Mian Saqib Nisar said, over the request of honorable judges and bar members of Balochistan, I have increased the number of judges in BHC three months ago,

“The day when CJ Balochistan High Court Justice Tahira Safdar took oath, I had called her and told her to share the names of judges to increase the number, but she told that the names will be shared after resolver some provincial court issues.” He said adding we have increased the representation of Balochistan in Islamabad High Court from 7 to 10.

Meanwhile a three -member bench of Supreme Court headed by CJP Justice Saqib Nisar comprising on Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Gulzar marked the occasion by hearing a case regarding blockades in Quetta’s Zarghoon road.

The lawyer Nazeer Agha told the court, following court orders, all blockades on highways around the country being removed but blockades in Quetta’s Zarghoon road didn’t remove yet under the pretext of red-zone.

On his stance Chief Justice of Pakistan directed Advocate General of Balochistan to summon Chief Secretary of Balochistan to appear before the court and explain his position adding roads are not blocked at anywhere in the world on the name of security.
