Customs starts crackdown against non-customs paid vehicles: Ashraf Ali

QUETTA: Balochistan’s Custom department has intensified its actions against non- custom paid vehicles and Irani patrol. The custom department will strictly deal with those elements that found vandalizing public exchequer.

The Custom Collector, Ashraf Ali, while speaking with newsmen said, all available resources are being utilized by Custom Department to curb smuggling in Balochistan.

He said, the custom department is determined to collect more taxes than the target assigned by Federal Board of Revenue.

In order to gain information about the latest operations, a meeting was arranged with the officials of Custom. They informed us about their priorities and targets. He added.

He said, owing to the shortage of man power, it is quite difficult to control smuggling in wide-range areas of Balochistan. Despite the shortage of man power and available resources, we have gained considerable success in achievement of our targets.

He further said, in order to curb smuggling in Balochistan, the custom department is doing laudable job. He said we have demanded for more personnel to control the area, while the higher authorities assured us to fulfill our demands.
