QUETTA: Maternal Mortalities unabated in Balochistan as a mother and her new born daughter were dead due to lack of female gynecologist in Balochistan’s remote Distirct Nushki on Sunday.

According to details, a pregnant lady was brought in the private clinic on early hours of Sunday but she along with her new born daughter died due to lack of appropriate treatment.

The relatives had protested and blamed un-trained medical staff for the death of mother and daughter and chanted fully throat slogans against the administration for not appointing senior female gynecologist in DHQ Nushki.

Refuting the allegations Medical Superintendent (MS) Nushki Hospital Zafar Mengal said, the female was brought to the clinic in critical condition as she had lack of blood and we told the family to arrange match blood,

“Delays in finding the matching blood causes her instant death along with her new born daughter.” Zafar Mengal said adding gynecologist was presented in the hospital.

Deputy Commission Naushi Abdul Razzaq reached the hospital and assured the protesters the District Administration will investigate the matter and would constitute an investigating committee to find out responsible staff.

Over Deputy Commissioner’s surety the protesters dispersed peacefully.

Despite having dozens of vacant positions of female gynecologist and medical staff, people of Nushki have been facing difficulties for their patients.
