QUETTA: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri on Monday appreciated Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) for holding the 26th National Karate Championship (NKC) in Balochistan, saying which would increase the spirit of the players.

QUETTA: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri on Monday appreciated Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) for holding the 26th National Karate Championship (NKC) in Balochistan, saying which would increase the spirit of the players.

He was speaking to the Karate players after concluding of the championship, which was organized by Balochistan Karate Association held at Ayub Stadium Quetta.

Qasim Suri said Balochistan players show positive image of the country when they participate at international level.

He said we could improve the youth capabilities through sports, adding that in this regard, provincial and federal governments are ready to support talented players at every platform for ensuring healthy society.

Nine teams across the country took part in the National Karate Championship and WAPDA team won the tournament with six gold medals and a silver medal. Pakistan Army got second position while Pakistan Railway secured third position.

Pakistan Karate Federation’s Secretary Andaleep Sandhu, Director General Sports Balochistan Ali Gull Kurd, General Secretary WAPDA Sports Board Abdul Razaq Gull, Secretary Balochistan Karate Association (QESCO Karate Coach) Babar Iqbal and related officials were present on the occasion.

The chief guest NA’s Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri gave away awards and medals among the players of the tournament.

Later, Pakistan Karate Federation’s Secretary Andaleep Sandhu presented a memorial shield to Qasim Khan Suri.
