QUTTA: During a joint session to review development projects under CPEC Balochistan Government and Chinese Officials agreed upon immediate steps to resolve issues causing delays in China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

QUTTA: During a joint session to review development projects under CPEC Balochistan Government and Chinese Officials agreed upon immediate steps to resolve issues causing delays in China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The high level session between representatives of Chinese and Government of Balochistan held on Tuesday headed by Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani and Chinese Counsel General Mr. Yao Jing.

Installation of 300mw power plant in Gwadar, Gwadar Free Economic Zone, Gwadar East way Expressway and security of Chinese Engineers and companies were thoroughly discussed during the one to one discussion session.

The session unanimously agreed upon to expand development projects under CPEC and Chinese Investment in the province with keeping in view the better interest of people of Balochistan announcing hurdles causing delays in CPEC would be resolved on priorities.

Installation of 300mw power plant was termed imperative in Gwadar city to promote business activities while numerous suggestion were discussed over the project.

Chief Secretary Balochistan Dr. Akhter Nazeer, Provincial Ministers, Secretaries and Chinese investors were presented in the session. The Session has decided to work on mechanism beneficial for provincial economy and social development.

Chinese Delegation informed the session that desalination plant installed by joint cooperation of Chinese Companies and Public Health Engineering have been imparting clean drinking water to the citizens of Gwadar on appropriate cost. The delegations were agreed upon fostering banking cooperation between China and Pakistan.

Addressing the session Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said, the incumbent Central and Provincial Government were serious on CPEC as the multi-billion project is the only solution to push Pakistan on development track,

“Today’s session has embarked new era of strong relations between Government of Balochistan and Chinese officials, people of Balochistan have many expectations with new provincial government and we want to step in future instead of discussing past.” CM Balochistan added.

“We seek to proceed towards CPEC by making a conducive environment, we have been taking steps to utilize province’s natural resources for the development of people of Balochistan.”

Sharing his views over the constitutional rights of Balochistan Jam Kamal said, by using our constitutional powers, the government of Balochistan will take decision in the vast interest of people of Balochistan vowing our government would utilize all efforts to make successful CPEC.

Chinese Counsel Genreal Mr. Yao Jing said, Chinese Government will assist Government of Balochistan for social development of the province, “The Chinese Investors seek to invest in mineral, agriculture and energy sectors, we will continue supporting new provincial government,”

Mr. Yao Jing assured the provincial government over Chinese support in building Forensic Lab in Quetta and Solid West Management in Gwadar.
