ISLAMABAD: The federal govt has called a huddle of Economic Cordination Committee (ECC) on Monday aimed at mulling over hiking tariff of electricity.

As per details garnered, a summary in this regard has been crafted already.

Sources privy to development told over correspondent that govt will likely hike electricity tariff by as much as Rs3.75 per unit. If ECC approves the hike, the govt shift will shift burden of another Rs400 bln per month on already inflation-stricken electricity consumers.

Recommendations have been made for increase in prices for the years 2016-17 and 2017-18.
