QUETTA: Provincial Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Department has blatantly violated Commissioner Quetta’s directions illegally replacing auto rickshaws in old dates by taking bribes.

Illegal replacement of new auto-rickshaws continues in Provincial Capital Quetta the city facing worse traffic issues from past one decade.

Internal Sources of RTA revealed that, Secretary RTA flanked with clerical staff commenced departmental action on old cases blatantly violating the directions of District Administration.

Commissioner Quetta Division Muhammad Hashim Ghalzai had directed RTA to halt replacement of auto rickshaws in old dates and decided to start replacement process after scrapping old auto rickshaws.

Despite the Commissioner’s directions, action on old cases continued in RTA office and replacement process being done against heavy bribe.

The Agent Mafia has been paying lavish amount to the clerical staff and they have been replacing new auto rickshaws without scrapping old ones. The sources revealed up to 50 replacements have been completed against bribe.

A member from All Quetta Rickshaw Association who wished to remain anonymous said, we don’t want to intervene in Government affairs because the District Administration didn’t even invite us in the meeting,

“They should have taken us on board before taking such decision, in that particular meeting to discuss traffic issues of the city the District Administration didn’t call us as a stakeholder in this valid topic.” He added.
