KABUL  : – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has arrived in Afghanistan’s Kabul today (Tuesday).

According to details, the army chief has met Afghan president Ashraf Ghani and discussed ways to improve bilateral relations. They also deliberated on matters related to border management.

According to Afghan news agency Tolo News, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Afghanistan on a one-day visit and was accompanied by Director General (DG) ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed and the newly appointed Special Representative of Pakistan to Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq.

Earlier on Sunday, the US peace envoy for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, overall regional security situation including Afghan refugees issue / Afghan Reconciliation Process and Pakistan – Afghanistan border management were discussed.

Both shared steps taken in this regard and agreed to continue working towards mutually agreed goals.
