QUETTA: The Railway and Excise police have failed attempts of smuggling Chars and arrested three suspected smugglers on Saturday.

QUETTA: The Railway and Excise police have failed attempts of smuggling Chars and arrested three suspected smugglers on Saturday.

According to sources, Head constable of Railway Police, Muhammad Ishfaq was on its routine patrolling, when upon suspicious activity he asked a passenger to search and during the search he recovered around 3kg Chars from his luggage.

SSP Railway Quetta Division Baqir Gilani said, the accused was identified as Sattar Khan, who was travelling to Karachi via Bolan Mail, and timely efforts of cop thwarted the attempt of smuggling.

He said, the accused was shifted to Railway Police Station, where a case has been lodged against him, while further investigation in this regard was underway.

Meanwhile, on tip-off Excise Police Lasbela spotted a car at Windar check-post, In response to police`s interdiction, they car riders attempted to escape from the site.

While pursuing the vehicle, Excise team chased it and during the search, they found around 200kg high quality Chars, whereupon they have arrested two suspected smugglers Muhammad Mudasir Abbasi and Atizaz Hussain.

The arrested accused were shifted to Police Station Excise and a case under the drug act has been lodged against them.
