QUETTA: University of Turbat’s (UoT) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that university administration was doing everything possible to give its faculty members the utmost opportunities for pursuing higher and advanced studies in the country and abroad for improving the quality of teaching and research in UoT upon their return, that’s why the faculty members were being awarded scholarships for doing M.phil/MS and Ph.D. in overseas and country’s best institutions of higher education.

QUETTA: University of Turbat’s (UoT) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that university administration was doing everything possible to give its faculty members the utmost opportunities for pursuing higher and advanced studies in the country and abroad for improving the quality of teaching and research in UoT upon their return, that’s why the faculty members were being awarded scholarships for doing M.phil/MS and Ph.D. in overseas and country’s best institutions of higher education.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of Human Resource Development (HRD) scholarships program launched under Higher Education Commission (HEC) held in Turbat University.

The meeting was also attended by HEC’s director Monitoring & Evaluation Sayed Naveed Shah, HEC’s Project Coordinator Faculty Development Program Atiya Rasool, Vice Chancellor Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari Karachi Prof. Dr. Akhtar Baloch, UoT’s registrar Ghulam Farooq, director finance Shahbeek Sayed, Dr. Munir Khatak from Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences Uthal, Prof Dr. Junaid from University of Balochistan Quetta, Senior Advocate Mehrab Gichki, PD Kamal Baloch, deputy registrar Ganguzar Baloch and Principal government girls degree college Turbat Zohra Baloch.

Vice Chancellor said that besides countries best institutions of higher learning, more than 40 UoT’s faculty members had also been sent to various developed countries in the world including England, Germany, Finland, Malaysia.

Turkey and Thailand for acquiring MS and PhD’s degree in order to promote a culture of research and academic excellence in Turbat University.

Some of them had rejoined UoT after completing their higher studies and research work and rests were studying there. He said that due to the adherence to the best academic, administrative and financial discipline the Turbat University was regarded as one of the best institutions of higher education in the country.

The meeting approved overseas scholarships for MS in different educational disciplines. Dr. Sabir maintained that the aim of awarding these scholarships was to support the recipients enabling them to meet their aspirations of obtaining highest qualification in the field of their choice while ensuring provision of necessary grooming for their development.

He said that we were committed to initiate and implement various programs for the capacity building of the teaching faculty and administrative staff to promote academic excellence and good governance in the university. At the end Vice Chancellor thanked guests from HEC and other universities for their participation in the meeting.
