KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the selected Prime Minister Imran Khan destroyed the country’s economy. On one hand the Sindh government has been doing exemplary show of good governance while on the other hand the incompetent prime minister has ruined the country’s economy.

Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led federal government,  Bilawal Bhutto said on the occasion that the Sindh government of PPP was not being extended due funds by the centre as in such a manner economic murder of Sindh province was being taking place. “But despite all this (Sindh CM) Murad Ali Shah has been completing the mega development projects,” the PPP chairman said on the occasion.

The PPP chairman expressed these views on Saturday as he inaugurated seven major development projects of Karachi recently completed by Sindh government.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Provincial Information and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani, and others were present on the occasion.

The major development projects completed by Sindh government in Karachi included Tariq Road Underpass, Tipu Sultan Road, Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi Road, Sunset Flyover, Submarine Underpass, 12000 Road in Korangi, and Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan Flyover. The inauguration of all these development projects was performed at Shaheed-e-Millat Road.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan should better inform about the performance of the Wasim Akram plus and Shershah Suri of Punjab so tell what work has been done by him,” said the PPP chairman while referring to the incumbent Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar whom PM Imran Khan called Wasim Akram plus.

“One of their relative has ruined the hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while referring to the PTI’s rule in the KPK.

He said that they would send packing the present selected government in the country.

He said that all the seven major development projects of Karachi had been completed by Sindh government in the minimum possible time as they all carried much importance.

He said that the PPP was the only political party of the country, which believed in serving the poor masses.

The PPP chairman said that his party had introduced successful schemes like Benazir Income Support Programme to do the cause of poverty alleviation. “Imran Khan should better inform about the development projects carried out by him in Punjab and KPK as you have been in the habit of praising the performance of Chief Minister Shershah Suri and Wasim Akram plus,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He said that show of governance by the incumbent federal government had been severely crisis-laden. “Such a crisis could only be overcome by a political party, which carries manifesto meant for masses,” he said.

He said that tax amnesty scheme of the present government had to done away with as it was meant only for capitalists. In its place such an amnesty scheme has to be introduced, which could benefit the small traders, he said.

The PPP chairman said that Asif Ali Zardari during his tenure as being the president of the country had not only increased emoluments of the labourers and people of the working class but also raise the pension of the retired government servants and armed forces’ personnel.

He demanded that the federal government should provide to Sindh government its due share of funds whose disbursal had been stopped as doing so would enable the Peoples Party’s Sindh government to carry out further service for the people of Sindh.
