QUETTA: Tough the department is capable in steering Balochistan out from economic quagmire but Livestock Department has been generating 10.35 million incomes on annual basis which is tantamount of atrocity with people of Balochistan. Akhtar Hussain Langove added.

He shared these views on Friday while addressing a meeting held to discuss the plight of provincial Livestock Department.

“Corruption and nepotism have ruined the Livestock Department in Balochistan which being considered as backbone of provincial economy, government has been releasing millions of rupees for just salaries of the staff.” Chairman Public Accounts Committee Akhtar Hussain Langove added.

Provincial Minister for Agriculture Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, MPA Malik Naseer Shahwani, Syed Fazal Agha, Sana Baloch and Secretary Livestock Dostain Jamaldini were present in the occasion.

Stressing upon need of uplifting livestock sector Akhtar Hussain Langove said, in developed countries Livestock and Agriculture sectors were considered as integral part of sustainable economy but in Balochistan we didn’t commit justice with Livestock department from last 70 years,

“Instead of drifting provincial economy, livestock and agriculture department in Balochistan facing huge debts.” Langove said added the PAC would take action against irregularities and corruption in Livestock department.

The Parliamentary leader of BNP in BA Malik Naseer Shahwani has slammed provincial government over neglecting Livestock department added instead of focusing on social development of masses, Govenrment of Balochistan busy in benefiting their ministers.

Shahwani also asked government to privatize Livestock sector in order to uplift the sector adding Secretary and DG Livestock should visits Balochistan and end injustices with the lucrative department.

Secretary Livestock Dostain Jamaldini assured the meeting that government has been taking measures in order to turn Livestock department as profitable sector of Balochistan, “Government is optimistic that next year we would be able to generate 10.55 million income of Livestock Department.” Jamaldini said pledged inquiry against Usta Muhammad Cattle Farm incident.
