Libraries are the magical places where one explores themselves. Even, worst-off people get a golden chance to bring improvement in themselves when they join libraries. However, it not only promotes education, knowledge and access to the sort of books, but also plays a wholesome role throughout our lives.
Libraries, on the other hand, contribute eminent and multiple contributions for the growth and progress of a nation. The well-equipped libraries are required for acquiring knowledge because they can change the destiny of a nation and sharpen the minds of individuals. They play an integral role for bringing change in the society and helping to create unique citizens.
Dishearteningly, Balochistan lacks only few libraries which cannot fulfill the desired number of students. This has eventually caused the province to lag behind in almost all fields of life.
To be frank, like other basic facilities Balochistan’s most districts are deprived of libraries. There is no availability of any library in disparate areas, and it has been causing negative effects to the studies of manifold youths.
Though, Kech is one of the well-populated districts where students are in dire desire of gaining education and participating in libraries, but most of the students face problems. Since their homes are far from the present libraries in the city and transportation has already been a big issue, specifically for females.
In Turbat (the second biggest city of Balochistan) only three public libraries are present; public library, Turbat Digital Library and the Library of Atta Shad Degree College. Students sit in these libraries for studying, but they lack the basic necessities like, relevant books, required tables, chairs and other requirements.
Unfortunately, the Kech Digital library is made of a very small room where students are uncomfortable. Even though, sometimes the student sit outside because there is lack of space inside and no new book is available.
To note the point that most of the western countries are prosperous and have reached to the highest rank of success for they knew the worth of libraries. In the contemporary, our authorities have failed to provide libraries in so as to broaden the intellectuality level of the people. Therefore, the contribution of libraries for building a unique society is countless. Sadly, we have ignored the worth of libraries causing us desperate downfall.
It is rightly stated by a great personality “Nowhere in the world is so secure and homey than the libraries.” This statement clearly says that the library is important for every individual in order to gain knowledge and have skills in every walk of life.
Education must be given high priority in the province. It has been causing backwardness for us. They are important because they assist in ceasing the students getting into wrong practices.
As a result, the provincial government has to work on the establishment of more and more libraries in Balochistan in order to give birth to creative mindsets in the province. It is high time Balochistan had come up as a developed region in the country. The issue needs favorable solutions.
