QUETTA: Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri has said that former PM Nawaz Sharif received relief on basis severe illness, if PPP also wants relief for Asif Zardari, should approach the court. No-confidence motion against him will face similar fate as it did in Sadiq Sanjrani’s case.
Talking to media on the occasion of attending a private school event in Quetta, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri said that the protest of the participants of the sit-in in Islamabad is a constitutional right and government is fully cooperating with them. “We want the protest to end as soon as possible,” Suri said.
He claimed that the number of production orders issued during this tenure of Assembly are the highest compare to past and he has always taken care of law and constitution while conducting Assembly sessions.
He further added that Health of Nawaz Sharif should not be politicised. “We do not want anything to happen to him and do not want to politicise the matter either, Nawaz Sharif was allowed by the court on medical grounds,” Qasim Suri said. However, if PPP also believes that if Asif Zardari is also seriously ill, they should approach the court, whatever the court orders the government will implement it, he said.
“For the last 15 months, the National Assembly has been running according to the constitution and the law. A no-confidence motion was brought against Chairman Senate who hails from Balochistan as well, this resolution will have similar fate,” Qasim Suri believes.
On BNP’s vote regarding the resolution, Qasim Suri said that Akhtar Mengal led BNP has always been voting for PTI and will do so in the future.
