QUETTA: The Trade Association, Custom Clearing Agents Association, Transporters, Importers and Taftan Clearing Agents have announced to standstill trade activities in Balochistan for indefinite period of time against inappropriate behavior of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The trade associations and clearing agents’ association have said, FBR and Chief Collector Custom have been creating obstacles against legal trade in Balochistan,

“The Federal Government has been asking for tax but the FBR and customs officials willing to stalled legal trade in Balochistan which would foster illegal business in the province.” They said alleged custom officials for extortion and bribe from vehicle carrying legal and cleared goods.

They added, we have approached to meet Chief Collector but he refused to meet us which indicates his negative attitude toward business community.

“The behavior of FBR Islamabad’s officials and custom collector has thinned business activities in Balochistan while now business has become a tough job in this province.” They added.

They vowed to continue their protest until provincial government didn’t take serious action against FBR and Custom departments.
