QUETTA: Laptop distribution Ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme was held in video conference hall of University of Turbat (UoT) on Wednesday.
The UoT’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir along with UoT’s registrar Ghulam Farooq Baloch, Faculty of Arts and Social Science Dean and Director Institute of Balochi and Language and Culture (IBLC) Prof Dr Abdul Saboor Baloch, Faculty of Science and Engineering Dean Dr Haneef Ur Rahman distributed laptop among talented students of the university.
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Focal Person PM Laptop Scheme Abdul Hakeem, faculty members and students.
University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir while speaking at the occasion said the use of advanced technology tools was very important in acquiring quality education and development of a country. He emphasized on students to use their laptop for education and research purpose.
Sharing his views on PM’S Laptop scheme Dr. Sabir said that PM’s Laptop Scheme has been very supportive in encouraging favorable environment in promoting quality education and research culture in universities. “This scheme is a great gift of digital knowledge to the students, now it is turn of students to take advantage of this opportunity for their bright future.” VC added.
Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir said the Turbat University was catering to the academic needs of over three thousands students who belonged to various underprivileged parts of the province and a majority of them were not able to purchase laptops due to their financial limitations. He said that University of Turbat has been awarding laptops to deserving and talented students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme since 2014. He appreciated the efforts of focal person of the scheme Abdul Hakeem for supervising the program very proficiently.
