QUETTA: The Commissioner Makran Division capt retd Tariq Zheri who burnt to death in a devastated accident at Bencha area of Kalat district laid to rest on Friday.

The funeral of Commissioner Makran Division Tariq Zehri held in Killi Shadezai graveyard in which hundreds of citizens and district officials participated.

According to Levis Force, Commissioner Tariq Zehri accompanied with his driver and gunman head to Turbat when his vehicle collided with a probox carrying smuggled Iranian diesel from Panjgur.

“The collision torched both vehicles killing four people including commissioner Makran Division capt retd Tariq Zheri his gunman and driver while the smuggler Noor ud Din Achakzai hailed from Pishin also burnt to death in the fatal accident and his accompanied received severe.” Levis Force added.

Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani expressed his grief over the death of Tariq Zehri added commissioner Makran Division was an honest officer and Balochistan has deprived from an elegant government officer.

Commissioner Kalat Division Hafiz Tahir who confirmed the accident adding Tariq Zehri was returning to Turbat after attending a law and order meeting in Quetta,

“The accident took place some 190km far from Kalat city, he was out of contact since Thursday evening and after searching him through Mobile-Locater we found his location at the accident spot.” Hafiz Tahir said.

Both the vehicles have been completely destroyed due to heavy flames ignited by smuggled Iranian diesel and the bodies had been charred beyond recognition.

Provincial Home Minister Meer Zia Langove has also expressed repent over the incident and shred his sympathies with the family of Commissioner Makran Divison.

Many people in Balochistan shared their anger over brazen smuggling of Iranian diesel from Pak-Iran border demanding immediate action against illicit business swallowing innocent lives.

Smugglers at Iranian bordering cities Kech, Gawadar, Naushki, Chaghi and Turbat often smuggles Iranian diesel in passenger coaches and pick-ups without any prevention by security forces and district administrations.

In January 2019 at least 27 people burnt to death in Lasbela after a passenger coach carrying Iranian diesel hit a tractor.
