QUETTTA: At least six suspected terrorists of Islamic State of Iraq and Lavant known as ISIS including a woman have been killed in five hours exchange of gun firing and bomb attacks amid security forces and terrorists at Quetta’s eastern bypass during early hours of Wednesday.

One policeman embraced martyrdom while five received injuries during the operation lasted for more than five hours in which one suicide bomber blew himself up while others hurled hand grenades on security forces.

DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema said, following a tip-off CTD Quetta and Law Enforcement Agencies raided on a compound at eastern bypass outskirts of the provincial capital where terrorists were planning to attack Muharram procession in Balochistan,

“One of terrorists detonated his suicide vests inside the compound but other five including woman have been killed during exchange of firing with security forces.” Abdul Razzaq Cheema said added Balochistan Constabulary (BC)’s driver Qazi Saifullah embraced martyrdom in the operation against terrorist group.

The injured policeman had been shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment. Spokesman Civil Hospital Waseem Baig confirmed that the injured policemen had been admitted in Trauma Center where quality medical care being provided to the injured personnel of Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF).

Calling the operation as an achievement DIG Cheema said, security forces have foiled terrorists’ plot against peace in Balochistan because they might target Muharram’s activities particularly Ashoura processions.

Spokesman CTD Quetta confirmed that, one of killed terrorists has been identified as Ibrahim Barrech local commander of ISIS remained involve in various terrorist activities in Balochistan especially in provincial capital Quetta.

The areas has completely been cordoned-off by security forces while Bomb Disposal Teams have cleared the compound defusing another suicide vest attired by another suicide bomber who gunned down by forces.

A soldier wished not to be named said, the terrorists hurled more than 12 hand grenades and commenced indiscriminate firing on security forces as they entered inside the compound,

“The compound was divided in three portions where two sides were being used for residential purpose while one part was packed with explosive and weapons and being used for terrorism related activities.” He added.

Security Sources said, one suicide bomber has been identified as Sheikh Husaini who brought Quetta for terrorist attack during Muharram while the woman Amina was sister of local commander Ibrahim Barrech. Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan congratulated security forces on successful raid at Eastern Bypass Quetta.

“Security forces has bravely fought and destroyed compound of terrorists. Security forces with comprehensive planning neutralized this threat”, CM Jam Kamal said.

He expressed his satisfaction on the performance of security forces for maintaining law and order. He also prayed for the quick recovery of  ATF personnel.
