KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PPP will not tolerate any conspiracy against Sindh. Pakistan has already been broken in the past when Bangladesh formed as Islamabad has tried to control the state. It’s not like those people were less patriotic than you or me, said Bilawal,

“If PPP and other like-minded parties don’t stand up, tomorrow, separate Sindhu Desh Pashtun and Saraiki Desh might be formed,” Bilawal warned.

While addressing to a news conference at Hyderabad, PPP Chairman lashed out at the federal government for “trying to occupy Karachi” following Law Minister Farogh Naseem’s statement that the centre was considering taking over the administrative affairs of the metropolis through a little-known constitutional provision. PPP chairman said after depriving Sindh of its rights, the government now plans to occupy Karachi.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Moula Bux Chandio and other PPP leaders also present at this occasion.

“Efforts are afoot to destroy Sindh,” said Bilawal Bhutto adding that Law Minister Farogh Naseem presented a plan to occupy Karachi. He said that we will not let (the government) snatch Sindh’s rights, The government will have to go if it attempts to occupy Karachi, said Bilawal.

PPP Chairman said the government plans to carry out economic massacre of federating units.such measures had led to dismemberment of Pakistan in the past, said Bilawal, adding that “How is it possible to control Karachi from Islamabad,”.

We will not let this undemocratic government work,” the PPP chairman said. He said dictators have been attacking the 18th amendment which the PPP has passed to restore the constitution of 1973 in its original shape. “Our prime minister says during a visit to Sindh that federation is becoming defaulter due to 18th amendment,” the PPP chairman said.

According to the Constitution, the province that produces a resource is entitled to utilise it before providing it to the rest of the country,” the PPP chief said, referring to Sindh government’s longstanding complaint that the province, despite producing natural gas, was not receiving its due share.

The federal government is trying to provide gas produced in Sindh to the rest of the country and wants the province’s residents to use expensive LNG gas imported from Qatar, Bilawal alleged.

If the federal government “continues to weaken democratic powers in the country, oppresses its people, steals their human rights and on top of that, tries to occupy their land and city, do you think that your country will survive? “Come to your senses! The Islamic democratic system is what has kept this country together,” he said..

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan people’s party would stand like a wall in the way of “selected” government and undemocratic forces. The selectors of this puppet government should stop suppressing the people and their rights of freedom of expression, PPP chairman said.
