QUETTA: Quetta’s Ayub Stadium is ready to host a first class match, as match between Southern Punjab and Balochistan will kick-off today (Saturday). 

QUETTA: Quetta’s Ayub Stadium is ready to host a first class match, as match between Southern Punjab and Balochistan will kick-off today (Saturday).

Upon arrival in Quetta, captains of both teams expressed their happiness and termed it a huge breakthrough for the cricket of region.

“It is great to be in Quetta, hopefully the experience here will be pleasing”, Test Cricketer Shan Masood said, who is captaining the Southern Punjab.

He said that match between the two sides will be a close encounter and will give good exposure to the locals.

“Balochistan has no shortage of talent, initiative like these will surely help the local talents to show their potential”, Shan Masood said.

He also denied the rumors of being considered as Captain of the national team, said tour of Sri Lanka to Pakistan will help restoring cricket in the country.

Captain of the Balochistan side, former Test Cricketer Imran Farhat said that many players of Balochistan are part of the team. Weather is suitable for cricket in Quetta and players will enjoy it.

“We will give opportunity to players of Balochistan. I feel great to be captaining the Balochistan team”, Imran Farhat said.

He said that PCB is working on improving cricket in Balochistan. The matches in Ayub Stadium are going to be enjoyable.
