QUETTA: The members of opposition Balochistan National Party-Mengal attended the Provincial Assembly session on Saturday with wearing lemon green jackets to express solidarity with engineers of various government departments, who were on protest since last three weeks in support of their demands.

Mir Akhtar Hussain Lango of BNP-Mengal stood up on a point of order soon after assembly session started with Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musakhail in the Chair, and informed the house that protesting engineers of different departments were observing hunger strike to press demands since last many days.

“We are wearing lemon green jackets in solidarity with professional engineers, doctors and other professionals who were protesting for denying their rights by the government,” Mr. Lango said.

He said that traders, school teachers, government employees and people of different walk of life were facing various issues and problems. The government should take measures without any further delay to resolve their problems on priority as their demands were genuine.

Sana Baloch while taking the floor of the house strongly criticized the government    and said; present government does not have any mechanism to rule the province which was facing financial and other crisis. “Entire administrative system is being governed by commissioners,” he said.

He suggested forming of a committee to discuss the matter related to protesting Engineers who were on protest for the last many days. The committee must be given the task to solve the problems and demands of medical students and teachers.

Mir Hamal Kalmati and other BNP-Mengal also spoke on the issue and urged upon the government to accept the demands of striking engineers and other government employees who were on strike.

Nasarullah Zerey of PkMAP while speaking on the occasion strongly criticized the government decision about the merger of levies into police at Quetta, Gwadar and Lasbela districts and said the government should withdraw its decision and make the levies an effective force with good training and equipping with modern technology and weapons. He also opposed release of coal mines license in Ziarat valley.

Engineer Zamarak Khan Piralizai, who is Minister for Agriculture informed the house that most of the demands of the engineers who were on strike. “The government has accepted five main demands of the engineers,” he said.  However, he said that opposition just wants to acquire political gain from the protest of engineers.

Provincial Finance Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi said that the issues related to the engineers, doctors, Teachers, Paramedical Staff, will be definitely resolved soon as the government was taking steps in this connection.

“Three newly established Medical Colleges in Balochistan were still waiting to be affiliated with Pakistan Medical and Dental Council” Mr. Buledi said, adding that the government was taking step to get these medical colleges affiliated with PMDC.

The Health Minister, Mir Naseebullah Marri, informed the house regarding Pharmacist and said that they were demanding 600 posts while government does not have more than 50 vacant position of Pharmacists.

“Vacant posts in the department of health Balochistan will be announced and advertized very soon through public services commission” Health Minister informed the house.

Mir Naseebullah Marri also said, attempts are being taken to get rid of from the shortage of medicines problem. He also said sub standard medicines have been sailing in Balochistan and these low quality drugs are bringing in from other cities of the country.

“Notices have been issued to different medicine companies in this regard. If medicine companies failed to pay back paid amount of Balochistan government. Balochistan Government will go the court and such companies will definitely be sued” said by Minister Health Balochistan.

Deputy Speaker Balochistan assembly Sardar Babar Musakhail took Notice, and passed a ruling and ordered to take necessary action on this matter related with human lives. He said measures should be taken against sub standard Drugs on war Footings.

An Adjournment motion also tabled in the house regarding Reko diq Copper and Gold Mines verdict from International Center for Settlement of investment Disputes. Adjournment motion was moved by Sana Baloch of BNP-Mengal which accepted for debate by the deputy speaker and fixed August 5th for debate.

Balochistan assembly also approved a resolution regarding official Gratis Passports for the families of the Provincial Assembly which was moved by Ms. Bushra Rind, Parliamentary Secretary of Quetta Development Authority. The Resolution was unanimously approved by the house.

Earlier House offered Fateha for the persons martyred in different terrorist activities in Balochistan. Assembly session will again convene on 5th August at 4pm.
