QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan hoisted Pakistan flag at Balochistan Assembly to mark 14th August celebrations in provisional capital Quetta.

Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Inspector General of Frontier Core Balochistan Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah, ministers Zahoor Buledi, Zamarak Achakzai, officials of government and people belonging to different sections of life attended the ceremony.

“This day reminds us about the day of independence, which was made possible by the sacrifices of our forefathers”, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal addressed on the occasion.

He said that people of Pakistan has dedicated this day to the Kashmir for the struggle of its people. Balochistan has given cleared message that people of the province are standing firmly with the Kashmir.

“India’s suppression is become extreme which will be downfall of the country”, He warned and said that independence is a great gift for the nations, just like in Pakistan every cast, religion enjoys freedom.

He further said that followers of any religion in Pakistan are free to practice their own believes without any restriction, show that this country honors rights of minorities but in India minorities are suffering.

“We are here to morally support people of Kashmir as every Pakistani loves people of Kashmir”, Jam Kamal said.

He says, Independence Day celebration reminds us how much we owe to this country, as our lives will be meaningless if we do not contribute in the prosperity of the country. All must play part in safeguarding country and make it a better place, he said.

One minute silent was observed while siren was ring on the occasion. Children of schools presented national songs.

Chief Minister said that today Independence Day was being observed as solidarity with the struggle of Kashmiri people, adding that India was an extremist country which had subjected all Muslims of India particularly Kashmiris to oppression and cruelty but we were certain that the Indian barbarism could not dent the courage of Kashmiri people.

“We will continue the principled support to the cause of Kashmiris in accordance with the resolutions of United Nations and with wishes of Kashmiri people,” he noted.

Chief Minister strongly condemned the use of cluster bombs at line of control by Indian Army and said that Pak-Army was strongly capable to defend its borders and entire nation stood with Pak Army.

“Green flag is symbol of our honour, when we maintain its honour the world will give us respect, and if we do not respect our flag then we will also not have respect,” he remarked  and said that today we were breathing in an open air was just because of sacrifices of security forces and citizens. He said that today we under the national flag salute our martyrs.

He said that we felt proud upon the bravery of our security forces who fought against terrorism and today’s Balochistan was more secure and peaceful than that of past. “We have succeeded in making Balochistan abode of peace,” he said.

Chief Minister said that the incumbent government was completing its one year and this period was not enough to determine the performance of the government.

He said that during past one year the government strived hard to improve the situation in Balochistan, improve economy, health education and end unemployment.

“We came up with a balanced budget which is being implemented and for the protection of Balochistan Land Lease Act, Mineral Policy was introduced, Food Authority was set up, step are being taken for the promotion of sports in district level and made legislations,’ he said. He said that PM was cooperating with Balochistan, adding that the development of Balochistan was linked with the prosperity of Pakistan.
