QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani on Sunday kicked-off Plant for Pakistan Day tree plantation campaign by planting a poplar sapling at Koh e Mehardar mountain.

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani on Sunday kicked-off Plant for Pakistan Day tree plantation campaign by planting a poplar sapling at Koh e Mehardar mountain.

“Tree plantation has been termed as Sadqa Jariya in Islam, every individual of our society should participate in plant for Pakistan Day campaign in order to secure environment for future generations.” CM Jam Kamal said while addressing the tree plantation ceremony.

Advisor to CM for Sport, Culture and Tourism Abdul Khaliq Hazara and tribal elders were present in the ceremony.

Government of Balochistan has targeted to plant one million trees and sapling in Balochistan during Plant for Pakistan Day campaign while 100,000 saplings have already been planted in the province.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan’s one billion tree initiative has been progressing rapidly across the province which would increase forest system Pakistan.” Jam Kamal said added in order to appease climate change effects we must have to plant more trees

He said, due to lack of rains in Balochistan majority areas in Balochistan have been hit with drought hence we should participate in tree plantation campaign with pledge of good care of saplings.

Meanwhile CM Jam Kamal reviewed various plantation campaigns in Alamdar Road and Marriabad organized by local volunteers and lauded their efforts to secure provincial environment.
