QUETTA: Member Balochistan Assembly of Balochistan National Party Shakeela Naveed Dehwar has said that rapid increase in population has not only reduced access to human rights but also depriving people from receiving basic facilities including Health and Education.

In last two decades Pakistan has witnessed a huge increase in growth of population. Though, the large population can also be used in constructive manner to boost economy of the country, still can be an obstacle for human development, MPA Shakeela Dehwar said addressed during an awareness seminar organised by welfare department at Girls College Cantt.

Secretary welfare Imran Gichki said that 11th July is being marked from last 30 years to to sensitize people about the need for control on population.

“Resources are on the downfall, which is a clear indication of future problems for the largest populations of the world”, Imran Gichki said as he insisted that family planning is the only way out of this major upcoming problem.

He said that Balochistan lacks better facilities in education, health sectors but current provisional government is working on long term plans to
Dr. Nayla Ehsaan who is head of the Gynecology department, stated that morality ratio in Balochistan in extremely dangerous compare to other provinces. “Morality ratio of mother and child is not only alarming but worst in the world, even compare to Afghanistan”, She added.

According to Dr. Nayla Ehsan, 785 mothers out of 0.1 m mothers die during delivering a child every year, likewise 121 children out of one thousands doesn’t reach to an age of five.

Family planning is necessary, as well as better health facilities are needed to insure safety of mothers and children, She says.
