ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Sunday warned that any step (to bring a no-confidence motion) against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani would increase the sense of deprivation among the people of his province.

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Sunday warned that any step (to bring a no-confidence motion) against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani would increase the sense of deprivation among the people of his province.

“Balochistan has remained deprived in the past at a large scale. Hence, we feel that all the parties, whether they are in government or opposition, should keep all the things in mind related to Balochistan. They should be careful while taking any decision that others can cash in on,” he said while addressing a press conference here.

Jam Kamal said he was hopeful that all the political parties would work jointly for removing sense of deprivation of the people of Balochistan.

He said Balochistan’s lawmakers from Balochistan Awami Party, Balochistan National Party Awami, Hazra Democratic Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had congregated in Islamabad with an aim to convey their reservations to the responsible of that political platform (planning to bring the no-trust motion against the Senate chairman ).

The coalition government of Balochistan was fulfilling its responsibilities, he added. Jam Kamal said Balochistan’s lawmakers in both the Houses of the Parliament as well as the Senate chairman were also performing their duties very well.

He said the province of Balochistan had different issues, which were being deliberately blown out of proportions by some elements internationally with the design to create trouble for Pakistan.

Underlining the need to dispel the impression to neglect Balochistan, he said there was a need to show seriousness on his province’s issues. “We need to see things as a whole. We are also expecting from the other political parties, at least from those, who were part of us during the process for the Senate chairman’s election, not take such an initiative that will put a big question mark on them.”

He said at the time of Senate chairman’s election, the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had jointly taken part in the process. “This is high time to take things forward. We hope this (chairmanship) will continue as Pakistan cannot afford that every matter of Balochistan is highlighted like that.”

He said things were moving quite good and any attempt to create complexities now would not serve for the good. “Such an attitude will create a strange sort of atmosphere, which will not leave a good impression at all.”

The chief minister said in the days to come Balochistan would be Pakistan’s asset. “Whether these are its resources or potential, and accessibility towards international areas, the world’s focus is on Balochistan, especially Gwadar,” he said adding that some elements were attempting to stop welfare and development work in the province.
