QUETTA: A patient admitted to Fatima Jinnah Hospital has been tested Congo virus positive, Deputy MS and in charge Congo ward Dr. Sadiq Baloch confirmed.

The patient belongs to Pishin district of Balochistan, was brought to two days ago to the hospital, he told.

After taking his blood samples, they were dispatched to Islamabad for testing. This is 9th Congo case in Balochistan this year, out of 21 suspected patients. Some of the Congo patients are Afghanistan, Dr. Sadiq added.

Every year number of people get affected from Congo virus, nearing Eid Ul Azha as most of the them are from the business of animals, or shepherded.

Government claims every possible measure will be taken this year to prevent the Congo virus from spreading.
